Course Objectives

This 2-day course is designed to offer hands-on experience and to help the clinician gain expertise by learning how to:

  1. Identify the goals of manual therapy.
  2. Understand and define exercise and physical fitness.
  3. Understand and identify the three energy systems.
  4. Understand and identify Type I and Type II muscle fibers and how they are recruited.
  5. Perform postural assessment and correctly identify postural dysfunctions.
  6. Perform flexibility assessment and correctly identify flexibility dysfunctions.
  7. Understand and identify corrective exercises for postural dysfunctions.
  8. Understand and identify corrective exercises for soft tissue dysfunctions.
  9. Properly administer fitness test while identifying errors of the participants.
  10. Design and implement general exercise programs.

Target Audience:  PTs, PTAs, OTs, COTAs, MTs, Ats, and otherhealth care professionals
