Class Description
This two-day intermediate to advanced level seminar has been designed to enhance the clinician’s skills in effectively evaluating and treating structural dysfunctions associated with cranial and facial impairments. The course will review extensive anatomy, physiology and neurology associated with the facial and cranial systems and will teach clinicians various manual therapeutic techniques to help restore function and balance to the respective systems. The course will include an optional comprehensive exam, offering the clinician eligibility toward certification in the line of osteopathic manual therapy.
Course Objectives
This two-day course is designed to offer hands-on experience and to help the clinician gain expertise by learning how to:
- Discuss the history of manual therapy and the cranial concept.
- Discuss, in depth, the anatomy and physiology of the cranial system.
- Assess the cranial sutures and identify sutural dysfunction.
- Evaluate and treat dysfunctions of the cranial biomechanics.
- Evaluate and treat the facial structure.
- Discuss the basic anatomy of the cranial membrane system.
- Evaluate and treat the cranial membrane system.
